Snap Not Slack

Snapchat may appear in an office near you sooner than you think!

Snapchat is taking over…

In a world of blogs popping up everywhere, Snapchat has taken a hold of the market and is unwilling to relent. What is it?

Snapchat is a online platform allowing users to send photos and chats to others on the app. It allows users to keep up with friends and the news all in one app! It wont be long before Snapchat is a must for workplace communication!

Snapchat acts as an excellent tool for company engagement, allowing special events to be promoted among peers, garner attention and hype from employees.  This could range from fundraisers, parties, ceremonies, volunteering events, and casual announcement. Traditionals means such as emails would be better suited for more professional and serious announcements.

Pros And Cons Of Credit Cards

Snapchat is an amazing social media tool but with all social media platforms there are both pros and cons. The pros of Snapchat is that it is easy to use, it is free, and Snapchat is really entertaining for those boring days at work. The cons of Snapchat is that Snapchat stories only last 24 hours.

  1. Very good blog, thought you did very good overall. The main thing that I liked was the detail that you went into with most of the parts. However, I wish you went into more detail with the pros and the cons, especially the cons part.

  2. Great post! I think that group chats in Snapchat could potentially take over slack channels, the only downfall is that messages need to be saved intentionally. I am excited to see where Snapchat goes in the business realm!

  3. Great Job! My favorite part was how how you introduced snapchat, how it is used in the business realm, and then the pros and cons. However, I think there needs to be a further explanation on pros and cons.

  4. I thought your blog was great, but I felt there were not enough cons considered. For instance, although Snapchat is a great way to have companies interact with consumers, do you think it is too personal of an app for internal communication? For instance, how do you think employers would react if they were able to see their employees’ snap stories from a Saturday night? Moreover, by communicating through Snapchat, messages cannot be saved unless a user clicks on the message to save it. Therefore, this could create issues if information shared in this way needed to be recalled or documented. Lastly, I’m curious to know whether EY uses their Snapchat specifically for external use or if they have also use it for internal business communication as well.

  5. Very good insights! I haven’t pictured Snapchat as a medium for workplace communication but I liked your points about Snap being a tool for special events like parties, fundraisers, and casual events. Snap has the ability for users to create filters for events and I definitely envision companies incorporating Snapchat geotagging technologies for business events. This will improve the connections and unity among employees.

  6. You mentioned a lot of greats points. I would have never thought that Snapchat would be an appropriate or even useful medium for communication in the workplace.

  7. Your team touched up on great points that have persuaded me that Snapchat could possible work in the workplace. One thing I would change about your blog would be the header photo. When I first opened the blog, I saw purple mountains which has no correlation to Snapchat.
